Dragonboating

I have been a member of a Dragonboat club called "Club Sake" since last August. I really like this sports because of following reasons.

  1. It is a team sports- 22 members are puddling at the same time. The boat gets really tight and we can hear and feel that other members are breathing. I like team sports because we encourage each other and each one's small power turns into huge power when we puddle together.

  2. Really good exercises- it is harder sports if you try it than just look at it. Mostly we use whole upper level of our body. Not only hands, more importantly use the rotation of waists is the key to keep our stamina. After the practice, I usually sweat a lot.

  3. Beautiful views- It is a water sports. We practice on the beautiful Lake Washington. Quiet late summer Saturday morning is my favorite practice time. It is great to feel morning breeze on my face.

Then last weekend I joined the first race of this year called, Windermere cup. The location of the race was between UW and Montlake, named Ship Canal. There were so many people on the Montlake bridge and the two sides of the canal, and they were cheering us. We competed with other three teams, two from Tacoma, and one from Portland, OR. We got the second place. Yeah!!
