Phone Calls

I hate to answer phone calls...I am not talking about my personal phone calls. It is business phone calls. Since I started the new job, my boss has figured out that my English level (speaking, reading and writing) is weak for dealing with real architectural jobs. Then my boss decided that I answer all the phone calls we get.

More than 30 phone calls a day- I am like an administrative staff of the firm now. So many different kind of people are calling us, such as clients, stupid junk phone calls, sales phone calls, and employee's family. Some people are talk really fast, and others talk with very strong accents. I probably understand 70% of the words they talk. the rest of the 30 %, I have no idea what they say. Sometimes they don't know what I said neither. For example, I answer the phone call like "Good Morning, xoxoxo Architects", but they think they call wrong number because they don't understand what I say, "xoxoxo Architects". Jezzz.... I am afraid to answer the phone calls. I hate the sound of them....

I was so frustrated this situation. I know I need to improve my English skills, but this makes me crazy. Now I have a responsibility to take all clients needs, and explain their needs to my boss. It takes a time for me to get used to answer these phone calls.

Can I use this situation positively? Oh...yes maybe?... I try to pronounce correctly every time, otherwise they don't understand what I say. My English is going to be forcibly fixed in this situation. Let's see three month later and what happens. Is this a good English training for me??
